Help Us Help Our Community
Without the labor of love of time and effort provided by our volunteers, the Food Bank of West Central Texas could not accomplish its mission. For individuals and groups, all volunteer opportunities are customized to suit the skills and needs of those involved.
Corporate volunteers design unique teambuilding projects, while school groups learn about hunger issues when volunteering in their community.

Warehouse Helpers
Warehouse volunteers are the backbone of our daily operations. Helpers sort, inspect, and package donated food items for distribution to our partner agencies.
Shifts are available Monday through Friday, and volunteers should be comfortable lifting boxes up to 25 lbs.
This is a great opportunity for individuals, families, and groups.

Senior Pantry Volunteers
Volunteers are always welcome to help with our twice-monthly food distribution at Rose Park Senior Center (2625 S 7th St), where seniors receive supplemental dry and produce grocery items.
The pantry, serving adults 55+, operates the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month from 9:00–11:00 a.m.
Volunteers assist by handing out groceries, carrying bags, and offering a friendly smile to our senior neighbors.

Special Event Workers
Throughout the year, we host community events, fundraisers, and food drives that depend on volunteer support.
Special event volunteers help with setup, registration, traffic flow, and guest assistance.
If you enjoy meeting new people and working in a fast-paced environment, this is a fun and rewarding way to give back while raising awareness about hunger in our community.

Specialized Skills
Do you have a professional skill, trade, or talent you’d like to share?
From photography and graphic design to data entry, carpentry, and outreach support — we welcome volunteers who can lend their expertise to strengthen our mission.
If you’re interested in contributing your skills, we’d love to match you with a project that fits your background.

Court-Ordered Community Service
We offer community service opportunities for individuals who need to complete court-ordered volunteer hours. All participants must schedule shifts in advance and provide court documentation before beginning service.
Tasks may include sorting donations, cleaning, or assisting with warehouse projects.
Please contact our Volunteer Coordinator for scheduling and approval.
Volunteer as a Group or Organization
Planning a volunteer experience for your team, company, or group? We offer customized opportunities for groups of 6 or more, including food packing and hands-on service projects.
Tell us a bit about your group, and our team will follow up to help you schedule the right experience.
